1. Sanath Bandara
Sanath Bandara, who became famous as a racing champion, entered the Guinness Book of Records on December 22, 2011 wearing the highest number of T-shirts in an hour. He wore 257 T-shirts during that time. By that time he had tried to set several Guinness World Records and was nicknamed the 'Guinness World Record'.
2. Wasantha Zoysa
The assassination of Wasantha Zoysa a few years ago was an event that shook the country. A karate champion, he broke the Guinness Book of World Records on August 23, 2009 by smashing 12 blocks of concrete, each four feet long, one foot wide, and three inches in diameter, weighing ninety kilos. To date, no one has been able to break the record for most head-on collisions.
3. Raj Rajaratnam
This is not a good Guinness World Record. Raj Rajatnam is a Sri Lankan billionaire living in the United States. He maintains close ties with top politicians in the country and is notorious as a pro-LTTE activist. He was released on bail on October 16, 2009 on bail of $ 100 million. This holds the Guinness World Record for the largest bail granted by a court in the world.
4. Terrence Ranasinghe and Malani Ranasinghe
Terence Ranasinghe, who played the role of the teacher in Ediriweera Sarachchandra's Sinhabahu stage drama book, and his wife Malani Ranasinghe, who played the role of Suppa Devi, inherit the Guinness World Record for the longest acting couple on stage. They played this character for 30 years from 1961 to 1991.
5. Sirimavo Bandaranaike
Sirimavo Bandaranaike is the world's first female Prime Minister and the longest-serving female Prime Minister. She served her first term from 21 July 1960 to 27 March 1965 and served her second term from 29 May 1970 to 23 July 1977. When her daughter Chandrika Bandaranaike was President again, she served as the Prime Minister from November 14, 1994 to August 10, 2000.
6. Tuhashini Selvaratnam
Thushani Selvaratnam was twelve days, three hundred and twenty four days old when she became the youngest golf champion in the world. The competition was held in the year 1988. Since then she has represented Sri Lanka in international competitions.
7. Tanuwana Serasinghe
Today, a small punch in our country holds the Guinness World Record for the youngest author in the world. Tanuwana Serasinghe, who set this record in 2017, was four years and three hundred and fifty six years old at that time. Born in Sri Lanka, Tanuwana lived in the Seychelles at the time. One day he wrote a book called "Junk Food" based on a lesson in junk food taught by Tanuwana's teacher. The book was later referred to the Guinness Book of World Records by the same Suriya publishers who published it.
